How-To Direction Essay: 

Write a four-paragraph essay giving directions on how to do something of your choice.  Each paragraph must have four or more sentences.  Be sure to use transition words.  I have put a list of transitions in files for you.

How to drink a glass of water 

Water is a necessity, needed by the body for various functions. It has many names such as: water, Dihydrogen monoxide, DHMO, oxidane, Hydrohydroxic acid, and etcetera. This tutorial you are about to read will teach you all the steps to drinking water. 

First, you must wait for the universe to be created. You cannot drink water when everything is in a singularity. If you can, then cheers to you. You must wait for at least some 12 billion years for water to get to Earth you know. TIME WARRRP… 

You are here! Secondly, you must now bring asteroids onto Earth with water. Let them strike down and create gas. Now, let the Earth cool and it shall now rain. Let it rain for a few millennia and may terrain and life be created. 

Thirdly, spark humanity’s superiority by creating fire and letting your fellow cave men try. Guide them through the art of fire handling. Show them how to transport water. Give them the knowledge of creating shelter. Expose them to the delicate work of glass-shaping. Now go into a slumber for a few millennia or so. 

Finally, embrace how far humanity has come and begin the final steps. Be born once again to the sound of 2010. Live life until 2020, when it is time. Get out of bed at 2 AM. Walk to the cabinet and grab a glass. Glide over. Slide over next to the gallon pump. Fill the glass with water, one push at a time. And enjoy the taste of 2 AM water.
